“Advent is not like waiting for a bus to arrive. Rather, it is an active waiting in which we live the present moment to the full in order to find there the signs of the One we are waiting for.” –Henri Nouwen

“Waiting is not easy.” –Mo Willems’ Elephant Gerald

As we walk through this Advent season of waiting and preparation, it is good for us as Ignatian creators to spend some time reflecting on the roles of waiting in an artist’s life. How might we actively wait as creators? When? What are we waiting for? How can we practice contemplative waiting in our instant gratification, information technology-dominated culture? How might our waiting for the coming of Christ at Christmas give a new dimension to our understanding of the patience and preparation required of anyone who makes a creative endeavor?

Join us for an evening of reflection and prayer led by Fr. George Drance, SJ, the chaplain of the Jesuit Media Lab.
